Two former World Heavyweight Champions during their time at the Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC, Dutchman Bas Rutten and Brazilian legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira believe that the current UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos will not have to break a sweat to defeat his challenger Alistair Overeem and will retain his title. Speaking to Sherdog magazine, the Dutchman Rutten said that he had warned Overeem to avoid Dos Santos as long as he can and he also added that a fight with the champion, who is in blistering form at the moment will be a completely one sided affair.
Dos Santos won the UFC Championship belt on the very first night that the UFC was aired on FOX, defeating the champion Cain Velasquez in a match that lasted just over a minute and it is this mean streak that is making the former champions fear about the well being of Overeem. The biggest problem that Overeem will have to face against Junior Dos Santos is the fact that the Brazilian has a striking ability in his punch that will win him a match against any opponent and considering the fact that the Dutchman has a ‘glass jaw’, it will make things easier for Dos Santos.
On the other hand, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Antonio Nogueira added that his compatriot will win the match against the Dutchman via a knockout. Speaking about the positives of Dos Santos, Nogueira added that he is extremely quick and agile, and also knows how to avoid the punches and the knee hits as well and he also has a considerable level of stamina.
All these things make Junior Dos Santos the favorite to retain the UFC Heavyweight Championship belt against Overeem and he is set to keep it for a very long time as well.
